As always, when she's held in place like this Hange feels her usual little twinge of unease, a desire to move away. She bears up through it, because Betelgeuse is important to her, and she wants him to be happy and comfortable. It's not so bad.
He lets her go pretty quick once she twitches, trying to be on his best behavior. Betelgeuse nods, all nervous energy now, and retreats back to his chair.
"Holy shit. Holy shit. Human. A living, breathing breather. I can't believe it."
What are you talking about, Hange, of course he's thought it through! What could go wrong with a thousands-year-old demon suddenly becoming human for the first time?
"Aw, you." He grins, babyfaced, back at his warden. "Come on. I've been around breathers my whole existence! I am gonna be amazing as a human, just watch."
"Haha." She's not so sure, but at least it will be on the barge, where he will be human with training wheels, and staying, right? Staying for sure, absolutely one-hundred-percent staying.
"Alright, well, drop me a line when it actually happens unless you wanna hang around in here til we see it!"

"I thought you forgot about that!"

"Can we do that? Can you ask the Admiral?"

"Hey, can I hug you? Because you are making all my wildest dreams come true."

"You think I'll know when it happens? How long should I wait?"
no subject
"Maybe? Ohh... Give it a couple hours at least?"
no subject
"Holy shit. Holy shit. Human. A living, breathing breather. I can't believe it."
no subject
Crap.
"How long do you want your trial to be?"
no subject
"No, I want this to be permanent. No trials, I'll pay for the full package. I wanna be alive for real."
no subject
no subject
"Yeah. Okay, I don't think that'll happen - big if true - but thanks. Hange, jesus, thank you. God damn this is going to be so good."
no subject
"Look, if you need extra help, don't try and do it alone, okay? Stanford, Stanley, Rhys, Bill... and me, of course, we're here for you..."
no subject
"Aw, you." He grins, babyfaced, back at his warden. "Come on. I've been around breathers my whole existence! I am gonna be amazing as a human, just watch."
no subject
"Alright, well, drop me a line when it actually happens unless you wanna hang around in here til we see it!"

He beams, nodding.
"I should go chill with Stringbean and make him feel special. You don't want me in here for the next however-many hours."
no subject
One last hug for the road.
"Have fun."
no subject
"Thanks. Thanks so much."
He releases her first, and with a wave, sets off down the hall.
